Bachelor's Level Programs

1. Bachelor of Bussiness Studies (BBS) :

The BBS program of Tribhuvan University at the FOM aims to develop students into competent managers for any sector of organized activity. The program is based on the principle that graduates will spend a major portion of their lives in a constantly changing environment. Therefore, the student should have an opportunity to obtain a broad knowledge of the concepts and reality-based skills underlying the operation and management of organizations. 

Upon graduation, students should be equipped to function as business, industry, and government managers. The graduate should also have various career opportunities in different business sectors including entrepreneurship and create much-needed jobs for others. 

ELIGIBILITY

The candidate applying for admission to the BBS program of Tribhuvan University:

  • Students who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations from recognized academic institutes with second division (securing 45% and above) or 1.8 CGPA are eligible to enroll in this program.

2. Bachelor of Science in Physics (B.Sc. Physical Group) :

B.Sc Physics is a four-year annual program of Tribhuvan University. Tribhuvan University started 4 years Bachelor of Science in Physics (B.Sc Physics). Physics is one of the most fundamental of all sciences and is the basis of our scientific knowledge of the physical world. It seeks to explain the behavior of matter, time, and space in the universe and covers phenomena ranging from subnuclear interactions to cosmological events like the Big Bang. The traditional B.Sc. degree in Physics is centred on understanding scientific fundamentals and it is through this basic approach that advances in scientific knowledge and technological innovations have been made. ELIGIBILITY

Any candidates who have completed 10+ 2 or equivalent securing a minimum 'C' grade in all subjects of  Grade 11 and 12 with 200 Full Marks of Mathematics are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Physics program of Tribhuvan University. 

3. Bachelor of Science in Biology Group (B.Sc. Biology Group) :

Bachelor of Science (BSc.) is a four-year program at Tribhuvan University. This program is conducted by the TU Institute of Science and Technology (IoST). The program has been upgraded from 3 3-year courses to 4 4-year courses to make it in line with the international universities’ practices. The total course is 2000 marks. Students have to study core courses and scientific communication in the first year, and core courses and applied statistics in the second year. In the third year, apart from core courses of the respective discipline, students have to study research methodology and elective subjects. In elective courses, students have to choose any two subjects from the respective subject pool. The fourth year consists of core courses, project work/ field work, computational courses, and interdisciplinary courses. The fourth year is research-oriented for providing knowledge, ideas, and acquaintance to the students in the field of research. The Bachelor of Science (BSc.) course is divided into theory and practical which is of 100 and 50 marks respectively. Bachelor of Science envisions producing highly qualified undergraduates with having strong foundation in the different disciplines of science and technology. B.Sc. The biology group covers these subjects as a combination of Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Microbiology. 

ELIGIBILITY

Any candidates who have completed 10+ 2 or equivalent securing a minimum 'C' grade in all subjects of  Grade 11 and 12 with 200 Full Marks of Biology are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Physics program of Tribhuvan University. 

4. Bachelor of Arts (BA in English, Math, Nepali, Sociology, Home Science, Political Science,    Population, Economics, Maithili) :

Tribhuvan University has launched a four-year bachelor’s course in BA from the academic year 2076/077 under the  Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.  It is an interdisciplinary subject where students can study English, Math, Nepali, Sociology, Home Science, Political Science, Population, Economics, and Maithili within the same stream. 

The four-year course is of 2,000 marks (500 marks each year) and students can choose two subjects of 700 marks each as their majors and two subjects of 100 marks each as elective subjects.

There will be three compulsory subjects — English, Nepali, and Nepal Studies. English will be of 200 marks, Nepali 100 marks, and Nepal Studies 100 marks. English has been made compulsory in the first and third years, while Nepali will be compulsory in the second year.

The students will be evaluated based on written examinations of 70 marks, while 30 marks will be for internal assessment, including mini projects, classroom presentations, and teamwork for each subject.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Students should have secured at least a D+ in all subjects in Grade 11 and Grade 12. 

OR

  1. Must have completed the intermediate, Proficiency Certificate or 10+2 level, in Humanities or Science or Management Stream from Tribhuvan University or any other University or Board recognized by Tribhuvan University.

  2. Students desirous of studying Major English/Economics in the BA Program may do so but are required to pass the Major English Subject within three years at +2 or PCL recognized by TU if they have not already studied this course at +2 or PCL Level

  3. Students who have studied any other subject at +2 or PCL level can apply for admission to Major subjects like Rural Development, Social Work, and Sociology in the BA Program.

  4. Students desirous of studying Journalism and Mass Communication as a Major subject in the BA program must have studied Journalism/Mass Communication at +2 or PCL can apply for Journalism subject.

5. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed in Health & Physical Education, English, Nepali, Math, Population Education) :

Since 1996 Tribhuvan University (TU) has been implementing three-year Bachelor programs with an annual examination system in the Faculties of Education, Management and Humanities and Social Sciences and the Institute of Science and Technology. Recently, the duration of Bachelor's programs in those faculties and institutes has been made four years by adding one more year. In conformity with this, the Faculty of Education (FoE) is going to introduce a four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with two specialization subject areas (specialization major and specialization minor subject)  instead of offering a single specialization area like in a three-year B.Ed.

Accordingly, students of four-year BEd. program will have to study one subject area as a specialization major and the next as a specialization minor area selecting from among Nepali Education, English Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education (physical science), Health and Physical Education, Population Education, History Education, Geography Education, Economics Education, and Political Science Education. Students may also study one of the courses among Science Education (Biological Science), Health Education, Physical Education, Vocational Education, Primary Education, Early Childhood Development Education, Non-formal Education, and Education Management as a specialization minor.

ELIGIBILITY

Students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent examinations securing minimum 'D+' grade in all subjects of Grades 11 and 12 are eligible to enroll in the B.Ed program of Tribhuvan University.

Or,

Students with a Higher Secondary Education Examination Pass Certificate (HSEEPC, hereafter only HSE) or Proficiency Certificate Level of Tribhuvan University (PCL) or equivalent to HSE/grade 12 pass are eligible for admission in the B.Ed program. In addition, they need other requirements for admission in different major subject specialization areas which are as follows:

  1. Nepali Education
    • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Nepali major with at least 200 marks
  2. English Education
    • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with English or Linguistics major
    • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with 50% marks in General English Or
    • Candidates with HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL must secure 50% marks in the Entrance Examination conducted by the respective department of the campuses
  3. Mathematics Education
    • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Mathematics Major containing at least 200 marks
  4. Health and Physical Education
    • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Health & Physical Education or
    • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Science or Population or Home Science or Nursing and any other subjects.
    • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL without health and physical education background must pass the physical fitness-related entrance test conducted by the respective department of the campuses.
    • The candidate without physical disability will be eligible to study health and physical education.
  5. Population Education
    • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Population Studies Geography or Economics Health and Physical Education Community Health Science Mathematics Home Science or Civics Social Service Nursing or Commerce.
